Only as a union member are you and your unionized co-workers guaranteed the legal right under Japanese law to negotiate your working conditions with your employer as an equal.

Tokyo Nambu is not a free legal aid service: we are a legally registered trade union, and as such, only have the mandate to represent our membership.

If you are joining as an individual, Tokyo Nambu dues are 2,000 yen a month and can be paid in person at our Shimbashi office or by bank transfer. In situations where you are joining with an existing problem, you will in most cases be expected to pay one year’s dues in advance.

Tokyo Nambu union dues work out to approximately one third of the national average of other Japanese trade unions.

Nambu Foreign Worker Caucus dues are 6,000 yen a year and also can be paid in person at our Shimbashi office or by bank transfer.
