Korakuen English Centre

According to recent information given to the Nambu FWC by officials at the Tokyo Labour Bureau (Supply and Demand Regulation Division), Korakuen English Centre cannot legally dispatch teachers, as it does not possess a dispatch licence as required by the Law for Securing the Proper Operation of Worker Dispatching Undertakings and Improved Working Conditions for Dispatched Workers and does not comply with the regulations stipulated within. Furthermore, Korakuen English Centre cannot legally supply public or private elementary schools, junior high schools or high schools with teachers via an outsourcing (or gyomu itaku) arrangement as it would violate the chain of command specified in the School Education Law.

Did you know?

    1. The company has a set of legally registered work rules for its contract employees that includes benefits, including cash bonuses, beyond what is specified in your contract.            

    2. As specified in the Labour Standards Law, and even in the company’s own legally registered work rules, you are entitled to significant paid annual leave above and beyond any fixed paid vacation, such as during school breaks, assigned to you by your school(s).

    3. The company is required by the Labour Standards Law to make their legally registered work rules available to all employees.

    4. The company refused to provide access to their legally registered work rules, spuriously claiming that work rules were legally unnecessary as the company did not have a dispatch licence.

    5. The company was finally compelled to provide a copy of their legally registered work rules to employees following an official investigation by the Tokyo Central Labour Standards Office in December 2005.
